During the recording of a new album by singer Ivan Lins, bassist Artur Maia, my personal friend, was wearing an accessory that I produced - a very exotic silver and pearl bracelet that looked beautiful on his arm. The musical director of this work was the husband of Jolie Jones and therefore, she was on that recording.
Seeing the bracelet, Arthur says that she went crazy and with that, he called me on a weekday, in the afternoon, saying that there was an important person wanting to see me, but he couldn't tell who it was. About three hours later, I was entering the recording studio.
I realized, when I arrived, that everyone was already waiting for me. Passing an anteroom, I saw a very beautiful woman with green eyes and Arthur came to talk to me, taking me to this woman. She explained who I was and with that said that she would like me to do an exclusive job for her.
The proposal was to create a choker and a ring for her, the way I wanted it best. From that day on, I started a friendship with Ivan Lins. I scheduled the day to take the finished pieces to the hotel during the weekend. I went home with this heavy mission, since she was, besides an artist, daughter of Quincy Jones - who, besides being a great conductor, was Michael Jackson's manager. I didn't sleep during the night, trying to come up with something - the deadline was very short, just three days and nothing could go wrong.

In the meantime, I found the idea I was looking for and during the rest of the days, I executed it in the studio. I myself carried out the process of making them. I started to think, in fact, something that did not fight but complemented her beauty. So I finished on time and managed to deliver it to her personally.
At nine o'clock on Saturday morning, I went to the hotel where she was staying and climbing on the roof, a security guard opened the door and went over to where a nurse was applying glucose to her: she was still drunk. I had breakfast with her and said she was looking forward to seeing what I had brought.
First, I opened the ring box and she was amazed at the large amethyst - a typical Brazilian stone, purple in color. It was a ring in which the stone was tilted and when the sunlight reflected on the stone, it was illuminated leaving the hand all purple when it hit the light. She was delighted.

She paid in cash and made me promise to go to Los Angeles to be her guest of honor, for a special party to be held for me. I ended up not going, since I was 20 and everything was too big for me. I didn't even have to ask me to take them. Moments like this are unforgettable.
